Lomita residents, along with other residents of LA County, have been doing their part to slow the spread of COVID-19. LA County is now taking steps toward safely reopening businesses and getting people back to work safely, including in the City of Lomita.

On May 26, the LA Health Officer issued a “Reopening Safer At Work And In The Community For Control Of COVID-19” order, which supersedes all prior “Safer At Home” orders. The order specifies certain businesses and activities that can resume, with individuals continuing to adhere to physical distancing and other health and safety guidelines. Individuals are encouraged to continue to stay in their residences as much as practicable.

On June 11, the LA Health Officer issued a new order, “Reopening Safer At Work And In The Community For Control Of COVID-19 – Moving the County of Los Angeles into Stage 3 of California’s Pandemic Resilience Roadmap.” The new order permits additional facilities and businesses to open, including fitness facilities, day camps, museums, zoos, campgrounds, and music/film/television production.
